Electrical safety Memo
Electricity has become firmly established in our everyday life. Devices, apparatuses and mechanisms that greatly facilitate labor and create convenience for the population are increasingly being used in household use. There is no such house where there would be no lighting household electrical appliances - refrigerator, TV, vacuum cleaner, iron, microwave oven, hair dryer, etc.During normal operation and proper operation, these electrical appliances are safe. But electric energy is fraught with a deadly danger to life if the rules of its use are violated. The danger is aggravated by the fact that when using electrical equipment, the human senses do not react to the threat of danger. If the sight of an approaching vehicle, the smell of gas, the rotating parts of the car usually force us to take the necessary precautions, then a person does not have a special sense organ to detect an electric current at a distance.
THE ELECTRIC CURRENT STRIKES SUDDENLY. Here, the threat makes itself felt only after a person has been exposed to an electric current. Neglect of safety rules when using electrical appliances leads to accidents. Depending on the magnitude of the current, the time of its exposure, as well as a number of other reasons, an electric current passing through the human body can cause burns, fainting, convulsions, cessation of breathing and even death.
Power facilities are not a place for games and entertainment!
10 "NOT" in everyday life and on the street
DO NOT pull the plug out of the socket by the wire;
DO NOT touch the wires of electrical appliances with wet hands;
DO NOT use faulty electrical appliances;
DO NOT touch the sagging, broken and lying on the ground wires;
DO not climb and do not even approach the transformer booth;
DO NOT throw anything on the wires and electrical installations;
DO NOT approach the tree if you notice a broken wire on it;
DON'T climb on the supports;
DON'T play under overhead power lines;
DO NOT climb trees, roofs of houses and buildings, next to which there are electric wires.
To warn people about the danger, the following warning posters are reinforced (or painted) on the external parts of electrical installations:
"High voltage is life—threatening",
"Don't get in – it will kill",
"Under voltage – life-threatening".
All these posters warn of a real danger to life. Remember that not all supports and electrical installations have posters, however, their absence does not mean that electrical installations are without voltage.
IT SHOULD BE KNOWN that household appliances and portable lamps with a voltage of 220 volts are intended only for use in rooms with conductive floors (dry wooden) and away from metal pipes and structures connected to the ground. Therefore, in bathrooms, toilets, rooms with earthen and concrete floors, on balconies, it is dangerous to use tiles, fireplaces, portable power tools, irons, electric kettles, floor lamps, table lamps; do not touch electrical appliances and any pipelines, heating batteries, metal structures connected to the ground at the same time.
Do not use faulty electric heaters! Do not place the included electrical appliances close to wooden structures, curtains and other objects made of combustible materials.
Do not allow multiple powerful electricity consumers to be connected to the power grid at the same time. They can overload the network and cause a short circuit.
YOU can NOT PLUG in and use washing machines, hair dryers, irons and other electrical appliances in the open air, since the earth is a good conductor of electricity and in case of any malfunctions of the device, you can be under the influence of electric current.
IT is NOT RECOMMENDED to use electrical wires of all kinds, as well as wire for drying clothes, since voltage may accidentally get on the wire or wire (for example, from a faulty overhead line). You can not hang anything on the wiring, paint over and whiten the cords and wires, glue them with paper, wallpaper, fix the wires with nails - this can lead to a violation of the insulation.
PROHIBITED :
O Use of devices with damaged insulation. Electrical wires are not allowed to come into contact with telephone and radio transmission wires, radio and television antennas, tree branches and roofs of buildings.
O Do not use switches, sockets, plugs, call buttons with damaged housings.
O In all cases, it is strictly forbidden to perform any work with electrical appliances - replacement of electric lamps, repair of switches, sockets, bells, electric stoves, electrical wiring without disconnecting them from the mains.
O It is unacceptable to leave unattended switched-on electric heaters, install them near flammable objects: tables, tablecloths, curtains, curtains.
O It is life-threatening to rearrange refrigerators, washing machines, floor lamps, televisions without disconnecting them from the network.
O Touching the lighting fixture with wet hands is particularly dangerous:
O Be careful when using electrical energy and strictly observe the rules of electrical safety, wherever you are.
O Do not endanger your life and demand that precautions be taken by everyone around you, study the rules for first aid to an electric shock victim.
O In all cases of electric shock to a person, it is necessary to call a doctor urgently.
O A person who has come under tension, due to the onset of limb cramps, cannot independently free himself from current-carrying parts.
DON'T FORGET!
ELECTRICAL WIRING SHORT CIRCUIT
LEADS TO A FIRE.
Water and electrical wires are incompatible! This is a very important rule! You can not glue the wiring with wallpaper, hang it on nails (they are metal!), pull the wiring out of the walls, tie it in knots, use it as a clothesline. All this leads to a violation of insulation and a short circuit of electrical wires.
IT is DANGEROUS to use dilapidated connecting cords and extension cords, especially with visible insulation violations.
It is dangerous to use faulty switches, sockets, plugs, connect their bare ends to the mains without special plugs by twisting wires. This will cause a strong heating of the wires, and their insulation from high temperature may lose its properties.
A serious danger is the use of non-standard, homemade fuses (bugs). The power grid is fully protected from short circuits only by standard fuses.
On New Year's holidays — it is impossible to decorate the Christmas tree with cloth and plastic toys, to cover the stand and the Christmas tree with cotton wool. The Christmas tree should be illuminated with electric garlands only of industrial manufacture. It is not allowed to light sparklers, use firecrackers and wax candles in the room.
9 rules of electrical safety for adults and children
For some reason, many people neglect the rules of handling electricity, forgetting that there is no safe electricity. The electrical safety memo will help parents explain these important rules to children.
For some reason, many people neglect the rules of handling electricity, forgetting that there is no safe electricity. The electrical safety memo will help parents explain these important rules to children.
1. The most important rule is to remember that there is no safe electricity! Of course, you can not be afraid of toys that run on batteries, their voltage is only 12 volts. But in everyday life, electricity with a voltage of 220 - 380 volts has become the most widespread.
2. If you are not an expert, you cannot repair electrical wiring and household appliances connected to the network yourself, open the back covers of televisions and radios, install bells, switches and sockets. This should be done by an electrician!
3. Do not use switches, sockets, plugs, call buttons with broken covers, as well as household appliances with damaged, charred and twisted cords. It's very dangerous! Never pull the plug out of the outlet by the wire and do not use plugs that do not fit into the outlets.
4. The rule is as old as the world, but for some reason many people neglect it: do not take hold of the wires of electrical appliances with wet hands and do not use electrical appliances in the bathroom. Also remember that in the event of a fire, in no case should you extinguish energized appliances with water.
5. If you touch the body of an electrical appliance, pipes and taps of water supply, gas, heating, a bathtub and other metal objects and feel a "tingling" or you "shake", it means that this object is energized as a result of some kind of damage to the electrical network. This is a signal of serious danger!
6. A broken power line wire lying on the ground or concrete floor is a great danger. Passing through the area around the wire, a person may be under "step voltage". Under the influence of the current, convulsions occur in the legs, a person falls, and the current circuit closes along his body through the respiratory muscles and heart. Therefore, if you see a broken wire lying on the ground, in no case approach it at a distance closer than 8 meters (20 steps). If you are still in the zone of "step voltage", you can not tear the soles off the ground surface. You should move away from the wire with a "goose step" – the heel of the walking foot, without leaving the ground, is attached to the toe of the other foot.
